CSU School of Dentistry & Health Services

CSU School of Dentistry & Health Services

The new $15 million CSU School of Dentistry & Health Services was designed to provide training for dental professionals in regional Australia.

This award winning project included the installation of 22 dental chairs, x-ray equipment, lecture theatres and laboratories.  It is located in a prominant position near the entry of CSU's Wagga Wagga campus.

One of the striking features of the building is the gabion rock wall.  Each stone was hand placed and took four men over four months to build using 1000 tonne of Culcairn quarry stone.

The building also incorporates a number of green initiatives including a rainwater harvesting system, automatic windows, thermal chimneys and 25,000 new plants in the garden.

The project won a 2009 MBA NSW Excellence in Construction Award in the category, "Tertiary Buildings - $10 Million to $25 Million".
